Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, and Geneva, Switzerland- September 12, 2005- Cellomics, Inc. announced the launch of their latest BioApplication, Tube Formation, at the 11th Annual Society for Biomolecular Screening (SBS) conference in Geneva, Switzerland. The Tube Formation BioApplication is an image analysis algorithm that allows scientists to quantitatively analyze angiogenic tube formation in vitro. Angiogenesis is a critical process in cancer as well as normal physiological processes, so the ability to rapidly measure the degree of angiogenic tube formation will help to accelerate drug-discovery and medical-research efforts in many areas. The Tube Formation BioApplication is a validated high-content assay that measures the morphology of endothelial cells and tubes, thus providing a direct measure of angiogenesis in a functional assay. The Tube Formation BioApplication will be available in Q4 2005 for all versions of the ArrayScan HCS Reader as well as the KineticScan HCS Reader.
