There are three tiers in HCi, Presentation Tier, Middleware Tier and Data Tier.
In the Presentation Tier are the client side (PC) tools for image and HCS data analysis - the vHCS™Discovery ToolBox as well as the HCS Administrator Tool that allows users and IT professionals to manage all of the resources of HCS (instruments, ToolBox, middleware etc). In the middle tier is our powerful HCS Applications Server - this acts as a communication layer between the ToolBoxes and Instrumentation and the database (Thermo Scientific Cellomics® Store) as well as establishing a framework for a series of plug in modules that provide additional functions such as archiving,import/export and connection to third party software (e.g. Spotfire(r) DecisionSite™ Residing in the data tier is our enterprise level database for HCS, Thermo Scientific Cellomics® Store.
