Image slides in any automated microscopeThe Slideport allows you to image slides on your Thermo Scientific Cellomics ® HCS Reader, or on any instrument in which you would normally use a standard microplate. Slideport has been tested to image a wide range of sample types including fixed and live cells, tissue sections, tissue microarrays, and beads. Benefits of using Slideport- Image slides as if you were imaging using standard microplates. Any microscope or plate reader that accepts standard microplates will also accept the Slideport.
- Easily automate imaging of your slides by utilizing Slideport's automation compatibility.
- Easily stack slides for automated imaging with or without lids.
- Slideport can be utilized at a variety of temperatures from 4°C to 37°C, allowing for flexibility of storage and imaging conditions.
- When used in combination with a Thermo Scientific Cellomics HCS Reader, Slideport offers all of the benefits of high content analysis for all of your slide-based assays.
- Utilize Cellomics BioApplications for automated on-the-fly analysis of all of your slide samples.
- Get all of the benefits of HCS data management through the use of Thermo Scientific Cellomics Store and the vHCS™ Discovery Toolbox.
Example 1: In vitro Micronucleus AssayCHO-K1 cells were imaged using the Micronucleus HitKit® HCS Reagent Kit and BioApplication (Figure 1). Cells were grown and processed in 8-well Lab-Tek® II Chamber Slide™ System slides from Nunc (Naperville, IL). Following the kit protocol, the chamber and gasket were removed and coverslips were added before imaging on the ArrayScan ® HCS Reader.
What our Pharmaceutical users are saying about Slideport"Use of the Slideport has enabled my laboratory to get the same benefits of automated imaging and analysis using HCS tools that we have for all of our microplate-based assays. The Slideport is the perfect tool to allow our laboratory to utilize HCS technologies for all of our assays!"
-Thermo Scientific Cellomics Platform User, Top 20 Pharmaceutical Company Example 2: Tissue Microarray A slide containing 10 common human cancers and 10 normal tissues was obtained from Chemicon® International Inc. (Temecula, CA). The slide contained two cases of each cancer and one case of corresponding normal tissue. A 2.0 mm core of each tissue case was on the slide for a total of 60 cores. The slide was deparaffinized as directed in the product insert and stained with Hoechst. A form factor was created allowing each core to be a separate "well" within the slide. Multiple fields of images were acquired of each core using 5,10, and 20X objectives (Figure 2).
Example 3: Live Cells Imaged on the KineticScan® HCS ReaderHepG2 cells were seeded in a Lab-Tek II Chamber Slide System that had been coated with collagen I. Cells were stained with Hoechst and a permeability stain, then treated with 25 µM valinomycin. Slides were loaded into the Slideport and imaged using the Target Activation BioApplication on the KineticScan HCS Reader's environmentally controlled chamber for a two-hour time course (Figure 3).
