Description The Target Activation BioApplication is a widely adaptable High Content Screening tool for automated cellular analysis on the ArrayScan® HCS Reader and the KineticScan® HCS Reader. It features morphometric measurements, multiple fluorescence measurements, fluorescence intensity variation (texture) measurements, and responder indexing in multiple independent channels. The Target Activation BioApplication can be used to study the accumulation or dissipation of any fluorescent signal, rare fluorescent events, or cell population characteristics such as to receptor internalization, drug resistance, GFP expression, mitosis, or cell viability. Moreover, the environmental control capabilities of the KineticScan® HCS Reader enable the temporal resolution of such changes in living cells. Instant quantiation of rates of changes in fluorescence are afforded by the extra analysis features incorporated into the kinetic version of the BioApplication.
Features - Makes measurements in up to 6 different channels (which can represent different flurophores or exposure conditions)
- For each cell, reports average and total intensities, intensity variation, and morphometric measurements
- Automatically characterizes and classifies the cell population according to response relative to controls
- Kinetic version calculates rates of change of most features at both the single-cell and well levels
Benefits - Versatile application that can be applied to many different biological situations
- Flexibility to allow scientists to design and optimize their own quantitative assays
- Ideal for rare event assays
- Shortens assay development time
- Allows scientists to do exploratory assay feasibility and development
- Can monitor time-course of expression in single cells
